Lititz Christian School is seeking a Part-Time Computer Science and Digital Literacy Teacher to serve students in grades 7–10, with the potential to develop and teach additional high school elective courses. This individual will create an engaging, Christ-centered learning environment where students develop critical technology skills, problem-solving abilities, and digital literacy including a focus on the responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI).
Instruction will be aligned with the Pennsylvania Department of Education academic standards and designed to foster curiosity, creativity, and real-world application. The ideal candidate will cultivate a student-led classroom that encourages exploration, innovation, and responsible use of technology through a biblical worldview.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned technology lessons for students in grades 7–10.
- Model and integrate biblical principles, encouraging students to use technology ethically and responsibly.
- Create a student-centered, inquiry-based learning environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving.
- Teach foundational and intermediate technology skills, which may include digital literacy, coding, computational thinking, and responsible technology use.
- Provide opportunities for project-based learning, allowing students to design, build, and solve real-world problems.
- Encourage critical thinking and collaboration through hands-on activities and student-driven projects.
- Maintain a classroom environment that supports exploration, innovation, and respectful digital citizenship.
- Assess student progress through projects, presentations, and performance-based tasks.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and integrate relevant tools into instruction.
- Collaborate with faculty to support cross-curricular integration of technology.
- Oversight of Robotics Club in high school
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and actively participates in a local church, supporting the mission and values of the school and integrating a biblical worldview into teaching.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education with a concentration in Computer Science or related field required.
- Willing to pursue certification from Association of Christian Schools International
- Experience teaching middle or high school students preferred.
- Strong understanding of technology instruction, digital tools, and current educational technology practices.
- Ability to create engaging, student-led, and project-based learning experiences.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Flexibility to develop and expand course offerings, including potential high school electives.
- A passion for Christian education and integrating faith with learning.
