Lititz Christian School is seeking a Part-Time Art Teacher to serve students in Pre-School through Elementary grades across our Lititz and Marietta campuses. This individual will create a nurturing, engaging, and Christ-centered environment where young students explore creativity and develop foundational artistic skills.
Instruction will be developmentally appropriate and aligned with the Pennsylvania Department of Education academic standards for the arts. The ideal candidate will inspire creativity while helping students appreciate art as a form of expression that reflects truth, beauty, and a biblical worldview.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate art lessons for students in Pre-School, Pre-K, and Elementary grades.
- Teach foundational art concepts and skills, including color, shape, line, texture, and creative expression through a variety of media.
- Adapt instruction to meet the developmental needs of a wide age range of learners.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, exploration, and confidence in artistic expression.
- Integrate biblical themes and principles into art instruction.
- Manage and organize art materials and supplies across campuses effectively.
- Travel between Lititz and Marietta campuses as part of the teaching schedule.
- Display student artwork and promote appreciation for the visual arts within the school community.
- Assess student progress through developmentally appropriate and project-based evaluation.
- Maintain clear communication with teachers and administration to support student growth.
- Track student progress and provide meaningful feedback.
- Model Christ-like behavior in all interactions with students and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and actively participates in a local church, supporting the mission and values of the school and integrating a biblical worldview into teaching.
- Bachelor’s degree in Art Education or a related field preferred.
- Association of Christian Schools International certification
- Prior teaching experience with young children (Pre-School through Elementary) preferred.
- Flexibility in classroom space.
- Demonstrated knowledge of art instruction and child development.
- Ability to design engaging, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate lessons.
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility to work across multiple campuses.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for Christian education and the integration of faith and learning.
